1/15/2023 0 Comments Dwarf fortress combat log![]() The drowning washes them and even though they leave as zombies, I think they probably smell better after the ritual. Interestingly, the military dwarves have very poor hygiene practices and are usually coated in old goblin blood. It leaves intact clean corpses with all their parts attached in the right places. The dwarves drown, which is my preferred sacrifice method. The right side is attached to a water tank filled from an aquifer and is used to fill the room. Once the chamber is full of the chosen, the bottom doors are locked and the lower draw bridge raised to seal them in. I have a squad called “Ritual” that trains in the sacrifice chamber and does nothing else, so the dwarves are always in the right position. In the top center is a weapons rack that is used to define a barracks. I constructed a ritual room with lever operated bridge doors on 4 sides and regular doors that can be locked to prevent dwarves getting stuck in the mechanism. After this I assigned each to a squad and could start testing. I locked one chosen monk in each room and let them go idle until they read the books. To test them, I made 4 rooms with food and drink stockpiles, a bed, a table and chair, and a library with a book shelf. There were 4 total schools, each creating different intelligent undead with different spells. From this I was able to figure out what school of necromancy each book was from. ![]() I exported the game to legends mode, looked up the books in legends browser, and checked the authors, and traced their necromancy back to the original necromancers. At this point I made a backup save for science. Of the 4,000 books stolen, 20 contained the secrets of life and death. in (Z)-stocks-(e)nhanced View-(S) to search for the key words I made a list of books that contained useful knowledge instead of pointless drivel. In the save game folder, inside regionX/raw/objects/text/secret_death.txt is a list of words the game adds to the titles of books containing the secrets of life and death. Eventually, over 4,000 books were obtained. Sending large raids is faster, as each soldier will only carry one book back at a time. The military of 70 chosen martyrs was equiped, trained, then sent on hundreds of raiding missions to steal books from around the world. The construction of the ☼Can Of Whoopass☼ started with creating an elite literary strike force. If there is anything in the game that can not be defeated by opening the can, let me know and I may improve its contents to match. ![]() The top tab opens with a lever for easy access. There are 7 squads: 2 with spears, 2 with axes, 2 with crossbows, and one with hammers. I have some “live” necromancers around as well to circumvent the bug. All squad members know the secrets of life and death, but in testing it appears that the intelligent undead don’t cast revive on their own, some kind of AI bug. They have magic spells that can inflict grievous harm, and squads have necromancers that can revive the fallen or convert corpses from the other team. They can continue fighting after being shot with hundreds of arrows or stabbed over and over with spears. They have no need for food, water, air, blood, organs, muscles, or nerves. The intelligent undead are perfect soldiers. The few gloves and boots not made of Adamantium are ☼steel☼. The ☼can☼ is built on a solid slade foundation, and all Adamantium on the map has been mined. Already they have been training for decades, and are all beyond legendary+5 in all combat skills. Lacking any physical needs, they have been and will be training uninterrupted until needed again. The intelligent undead are either “Corrupted Slayers” and have the paralysis spell, or are “Sunless Zombies” and have Blister, Pain, and Rot spells. ![]() Anything that dies on the battle field stands back up and starts fighting on our side. All soldiers are intelligent undead who know the secrets of life and death. ![]() Inside is the most powerful army I believe is possible. Constructed from solid steel, the can contains 100% pure distilled whoopass. ![]()
